The 35th General Assembly
Indonesia was entrusted to host the 35th General Assembly of International Council of Women held in Yogyakarta on September 13-18, 2018. The event also became a national meeting facility for a thousand Indonesian women’s organizations under the auspices of the Indonesian Women’s Congress (KOWANI) and attended by 1792 people.
The theme for this forum was “Transforming Society Through Women Empowerment” and was attended by approximately 200 ICW international delegates from 100 countries. About 1,000 Indonesian women and ambassadors and women ministers of Working Cabinet attended the event. With the presence of international guests from all over the world, could increase business potential, especially in the field of tourism in Indonesia.
The International Council of Woman (ICW) is a civil society organization recognized by the United Nations (UN) in this case the UN-Women which was founded in 1888 and now 130 years old. ICW’s mission includes fighting for women’s progress and supporting the 62nd CSW UN-WOMEN activity program in 2018, namely improving the economy of women and children in rural areas. Besides that, General Assembly of the International Council of Women also plays an important role in bringing opportunities for the importance of Indonesian women in the eyes of the world.
The Ministry of SOEs supports Kowani’s plan to hold a Women’s Congress in Yogyakarta in 2018. In this activity, Patra Jasa acted as a coordinator of all SOEs in a series of events, such as the core event which was packaged in a conference that features panelists to discuss with women around the world, to care and be aware of various problems and issues that occur in women. In addition, Patra Jasa also coordinated the visits of most of international guests to the proud project of SOEs, Balkondes (Bale Ekonomi Desa) on September 18-20 2018.
