Jakarta, October 2, 2024 – In commemoration of National Batik Day 2024, Patra Jasa invites PERWIRA to participate in a joint batik-making activity. The “Ngebatik Yuk” workshop was held at the Patra Jasa Office Tower, attended by 25 registered officers.
The National Batik Day celebration was held by Patra Jasa to appreciate Indonesia’s cultural diversity, one of which is through Batik craftsmanship. Additionally, Patra Jasa invited officers to wear their best Batik during the workshop as a form of Indonesia’s unique cultural identity.
This workshop activity is in collaboration with Canting.ku, starting with an introduction to various types of Batik found in Indonesia, such as Batik Keraton from Yogyakarta, Batik Mega Mendung from Cirebon, Batik Tujuh Rupa from Pekalongan, Batik Sogan from Solo, and Batik Kawung from Central Java. After the introduction, the Patra Jasa officers were introduced to the tools used in the batik-making process, such as wax, canting, fabric dyes, woks, stoves, scraps of cloth, etc.
In the process of making batik, PERWIRA Patra Jasa was explained and shown an example of how to use a canting to create batik patterns on the fabric using heated wax, followed by the next process, which is dyeing. PERWIRA Patra Jasa participants in this workshop are given the freedom to experiment with colors according to their creativity.
