Synergy of Pertamina Group, Patra Jasa Collaborates to Build Pilot Project for Waste Oil Management to Create Green Energy

December 11, 2023

Jakarta: PT Patra Jasa collaborates with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga build a pilot project aggregator for the collection of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) or waste oil. This project is expected to develop a portfolio in green energy management.

Patra Jasa is a company that operates through three business pillars. Two of them are Hotels and Resorts. In addition to Patra Jasa, other Pertamina subsidiaries such as PT Pertamina Bina Media (IHC) also take part in the development of the Used Cooking Oil (UCO) or used cooking oil business. A study will be conducted on UCO aggregators in hospital and hotel environments.

“Of course it produces UCO waste which is unavoidable,” said President Director of Patra Jasa, Putut Ariwibowo, during the Signing of the Pertamina Group Synergy, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Pertamina Patra Niaga – Patra Jasa, Monday, December 11, 2023.

UCO waste from 10 hotels managed by Patra Jasa produces 350 liters of UCO per month. Currently, Patra Jasa is working with the surrounding community to manage UCO waste so it can be reprocessed.

“Of course it is not a small number, considering that UCO is one of the wastes that can be used for the green energy program,” said Putut.

He hopes that this pilot project with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga can be one of the solutions to managing UCO. Especially for Patra Jasa hotel units in West Java and Jakarta, namely Patra Cirebon Hotel & Convention, Patra Bandung Hotel, Patra Anyer Hotel, and Patra Jakarta Hotel.

Patra Jasa fully supports this UCO aggregator or collection pilot project program. “I am sure that the synergy with Pertamina Group can contribute to creating innovations that can encourage the growth of renewable energy. None other than to support Indonesia’s commitment to achieving Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission target by 2060,” said Putut.

The signing of the Pertamina Group Synergy MoU for Pertamina Patra Niaga – Patra Jasa was attended by the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Riva Siahaan; President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Arief Setiawan Handoko; Medical Director of PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC Lia Gardenia Partakusuma; the Management of PT Pertamina (Persero); the Board of Directors of PT Patra Jasa; and the entire Management of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, and PT Patra Jasa.
