Clothes for Charity: Patra Jasa Transforms Used Clothes into Future Scholarships

August 26, 2025

Jakarta, August 26th, 2025 – In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Patra Jasa is implementing a Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) program titled Clothes for Charity (CFC). This program adopts the social enterprise fundraising concept in the field of sustainable fashion, involving Patra Jasa officers who participate in donating wearable clothes.

Partnering with the Gemilang Indonesia Foundation, Patra Jasa successfully collected a total of 60 kg of usable clothing in just five days (August 19th – 25th, 2025). This donation was then handed directly to the Chair of the Gemilang Indonesia Foundation, Mrs. Hamidah Rosichah, in South Jakarta (8/26). According to its concept, the collected clothes will be resold, and the proceeds will be used to fund social activities, including educational scholarships for marginalized, orphaned, and impoverished children.

These used but wearable clothes will not only be recycled but also repurposed to create new benefits. Beside being sold to support children’s education, some of the clothes will also be used for community empowerment programs, such as sewing skills training or developing economically valuable recycled-based products. This way, the donations collected can have a long-term impact, not just be a one-time use.

“Through the scholarship born from the benefits of these used clothes, Patra Jasa also contributes to supporting the government’s program to produce outstanding generations, future national leaders toward Golden Indonesia 2045. “This initiative shows that simple steps like donating clothes can be part of the nation’s great journey toward a brighter future,” said Rina Martha, VP Corporate Secretary of PT Patra Jasa.

With the slogan “Not All Leftovers Are Waste Forever,” Patra Jasa hopes this initiative will not only be a form of sharing spirit during the independence moment but also a part of a real solution in reducing textile waste and promoting recycling. This program demonstrates how the small spirit of Patra Jasa officers can have a significant impact on others, while also aligning with Pertamina Group’s commitment to supporting sustainability and community empowerment.
