As a Portfolio Subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), Patra Jasa is committed to providing welfare to the surrounding environment of its operational units through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) p rogram. This CSR program was carried out by providing assistance to farmers in Margosari Village, located near the Patra Semarang Hotel & Convention. The assistance was symbolically handed over directly by the Acting Manager of External Relations & CSR, accompanied by the GM of Patra Semarang Hotel, at the Poncowati Ballroom, to the Chairman of the Margosari Farmers Group, and attended by representatives from the Limbangan District Agricultural Extension Service (12/11).
Agribusiness has become one of the economic sectors that requires special attention from the Government. In line with current developments, many land utilizations are being converted into industrial functions, while the remaining land for agribusiness activities is decreasing and not being managed optimally. Concrete steps need to be taken immediately to ensure the sustainability of food availability.
In relation to these conditions, Patra Jasa is participating in developing the agricultural potential in Margosari Village, which is currently not fully maximized, where most of the residents work as farmers, ranchers, and laborers.
In this program, farmers received direct training on plant cultivation, such as sugar palm plants, avocados, vegetables, and hydroponic processes. Collaborating with the Farmers Group in Margosari Village and the Agricultural Extension Service of Limbangan District, this training was guided by Hydroponics Expert, Rochim, and Agricultural Extension Officer of Limbangan District, Ngatini, with around 30 participants. Lasting for three days starting from November 13, 2024, participants also received the necessary tools for hydroponic installation, such as palm sugar production, compost making, and avocado tree seedlings, as well as monitoring to ensure the success of the training.
In her speech, Febriyani, acting as the Manager of External Relations & CSR at Patra Jasa, stated, “This CSR is a sustainable program carried out by Patra Jasa through its business units.” The program we are running this year, namely Agri & Economic Empowerment, is a manifestation of our concern for the development of Agribusiness, which still requires attention in its management. We hope this assistance can motivate the residents of Margosari Village to produce various food products such as aren, avocados, or vegetables with the best quality, so that the supply of these products can be maintained. And it is expected to improve the local economy.
