Dumai is located in Riau Province and 201 km from Pekanbaru, known as producing Oil and Gas. The results of the earth’s wealth which is a high commodity in the world and Indonesia is one of the contributors to progress of the city until now. Besides being famous for its oil, Dumai has the largest port of oil industry export in Indonesia. It is because the location of Dumai City is very strategic for exporting oil and gas commodities. With many oil and gas companies in the city, the need for human resources who have expertise in the oil and gas industry, one of which is a welder, is an important requirement to find a job in Dumai.

Patra Jasa through Patra Dumai Hotel, provides Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) assistance in the form of Welding Machines and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as Welding Training. The provision of this assistance is a form of Patra Jasa’s commitment to always maintain good relations and provide benefits through community empowerment, especially around the operational units on an ongoing basis. In addition, this program is also part of PT Patra Jasa’s Environment, Social and Government (ESG) program. “Hopefully this program can provide additional skills to empower youth in Buluh Kasap sub-district, in hope of reducing unemployment in Dumai City.” Umar stated.

The TJSL activity, which operated at the Buluh Kasap Village office, East Dumai was received directly by the Buluh Kasap Village Head, Mr. Ganda Prawiranata and handed over by Mr. Umar Abdul Jabbar as General Manager (GM) of Patra Dumai Hotel. The event was attended by the management of Patra Dumai Hotel, the chief of the LMPK, the chief of the Youth Organization, and the Head of Neighbourhood in the Buluh Kasap sub-district area by prioritizing strict health protocols during the event.
