Facing challenges in the energy transition era as part of PT Pertamina (Persero)’s aspirations to become a Global Energy Company in line with efforts to achieve Pertamina’s Net Zero Emissions in 2060, through the Research & Technology Innovation (RTI) function, Pertamina continues to innovate and conduct research particularly with regard to petrochemical products, which among others are starting to enter the commercial development phase in order to accelerate faster implementation and commercialization so as to provide added value and new sources of revenue.

One of the petrochemical research products with high added value is Breezon refrigerant, which is currently produced from Refinery Unit (RU) III Plaju as much as 9,000 tons/year. Breezon is an alternative product/substitute for synthetic freon (fluorinated) such as R22, R410a and R32 for air conditioning machines where synthetic freon is currently 100% fulfilled by imports.

Following up on the Breezon implementation plan, the Directors of Patra Jasa attended the BREEZON Accelerating and Launching – Program to Accelerate the Implementation of Breezon at the Pertamina Group which was held on March 3, 2023 at the Patra Bandung Hotel. It was attended by the President Director of Patra Jasa, Putut Ariwibowo with the Director of Hospitality and Multi Services, Ray S.M. Daulay was accompanied by Management. VP Planning & Commercial Development RTI Pertamina, Ary Kurniawan, VP Downstream RTI Pertamina, Usman, VP Production Planning & Monitoring at PT Pertamina Internasional Refinery, Permono Avianto, and VP LPG Sales at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Isfahani were present at the event.

Surely, the BREEZON Accelerating and Launching event accelerates the implementation of Breezon to become the next generation non-CFC refrigerant made from propylene which is safe, environmentally friendly and energy efficient with its various advantages.
